FEW Spirits is kicking buds and taking names. (Yep, that's taste buds.)
FEW is one of our favorite distillers, though we might be a little biased, given that they're based just minutes away from us. However, it looks like Whiskey Advocate got the memo too, as they named FEW's rye the 2013 Whiskey of the Year. This means that you can rest assured it’s awesome. We would like to take this moment to mention to buy now while the FEW rye is in stock.
Let's focus on the nitty gritty: FEW's rye is a traditional rye mash, altered only by corn to sweeten things up, and a teeny tiny bit of malted barely. As is typical with most ryes, it has been aged less than 4 years in oak barrels(__). Too much aging can add to too much woody flavor and texture. As an added bonus, like all FEW products, the whole process for this rye takes place under one roof.
