Recipe

The New England Thanksgiving Spritzer

Let the bounty of late summer and fall buoy your spirits for the long cold winter ahead. This cocktail is at once celebratory and nostalgic as the tartness of rhubarb and cranberries balance the subtle sweetness of apple brandy. These flavors are elevated by the effervescence of sparkling rosé and brightness of citrus, reminding us that while we have some cold times ahead, they can be merry as spring and summer will soon come anew.

  • 1/4 Oz Fresh Squeezed Orange Juice
  • 1 Peel Orange
  • 4 Oz Sparkling Rosé
  • 1.5 Oz Rhine Hall Apple Brandy buy at Ezra's
  • 2 Dashes Fee Brothers Cranberry Bitters
  • 1 Dash Fee Brothers Rhubarb Bitters
  1. Mix brandy, bitters and orange juice in a shaker with lots of ice
  2. Shake vigorously for 7 seconds
  3. Strain into a champagne flute
  4. Top off with sparkling rosé
  5. Garnish with an orange peel and a few cranberries
